Using FocalPoints unique licensing platform the Design Owner can license its proprietary contact lens designs to other FocalPoints users securely. Our seamless integration with the most used Lathe brands facilitates the manufacturing process. The Manufacturing Lab will continue to operate as he normally does, thus making the switch from own designs to licensed ones as effortless as possible.
Once a CL is developed in FocalPoints, its design can be distributed to any other FocalPoints user in a secure encrypted file with the Design Owner Toolkit. The Design Owner can set the duration of the License and decide which elements of the CL design can be seen by the Licensee. In order to protect a design and issue a License, one must have the Design Owner Toolkit, which assigns to the Licensor an unique Owner Code, enforces the protection and finally issues the license to the Manufacturing Lab.
Secure design licensing allows design owners to encrypt their contact lens designs to hide design information and prevent modifications. This process ensures that only authorized parties can access and use the designs. Additionally, the owner can set specific licensing terms, such as expiration dates, run limitations, and license protection measures. This ensures that the design is used within the agreed parameters, providing control over its distribution and usage while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the design details.
When seeking to obtain a licensed design, the Manufacturing Lab must reach an agreement with the Design Owner. Advance Medical does not participate directly in these negotiations. Our role is to provide the technical infrastructure that operates and maintains the licensing platform. This includes offering the necessary tools, facilitating the process, and ensuring our operations remain independent and transparent, acting in the best interest of all parties involved.
