Many of our new features are available at no additional cost for new customers and will remain as additional modules for existing customers. Powermap Comparison Engine
The Powermap Comparison Engine (PCE) simplifies comparing expected and actual power maps of contact lenses. Compatible with Lambda-X NIMO and soon with other power mappers, it offers a novel way to evaluate complex lens designs. PCE tackles the challenge of matching theoretical design parameters with practical outcomes by providing detailed analysis and comparison, highlighting discrepancies, and reducing inspection subjectivity. This feature will be included at no additional cost in new FocalPoints versions for systems that already have the FP/NIMO Integration.
Oculus Integration
FocalPoints' integration with OCULUS software facilitates the export process, by consolidating all necessary data into a single, easily transferable file. This integration greatly simplifies the workflow for Eye Care Professionals (ECPs), making the transmission of data to laboratories more efficient. With mapping information readily accessible within the FocalPoints ecosystem, the platform enhances collaboration between ECPs and Labs. This feature will be a standard upgrade in all upcoming versions of FocalPoints.
XML Orders Import & Closing for New Systems
Starting in 2024, we have included the XML Order Import module in the QuickOrder package at no additional cost. Based on client feedback, we recognized the frequent need for QuickOrder to integrate with existing ERP or external ordering systems. This out-of-the-box solution offers new QuickOrder customers greater value and peace of mind. For owners of previous QuickOrder versions and other software editions it will remain as an additional module.
DAC Automatic BCT Measurement
The Automatic Blank Center Thickness (BCT) measurement for DAC Lathes simplifies and streamlines the production workflow. It begins with the operator measuring the raw blank thickness and inputting the data into FocalPoints. This information is then sent to the DAC Lathe, which calculates the remaining material after machining the back surface. The calculated BCT is sent back to FocalPoints, where it is stored for use during front lathing. This automation removes the need for manual measurements, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency.
Calculating the Lens Surface Area
The latest release of FocalPoints Designer introduces the ability to calculate a lens's surface area based on specific design parameters. Additionally, our advanced tools now offer precise calculations for volume, center of gravity, and mass—valuable features inspired by feedback from our clients. These enhancements will be a standard upgrade in all upcoming versions of FocalPoints.
