Advance Medical's Year in Review: 2023 Wrapped

December 2023 - Go to FocalPoints Overview

As 2023 comes to a close, we take some time to reflect on this year' journey. From constant software enhancements to strategic innovations, each milestone has fortified our commitment to setting industry standards in specialty contact lens manufacturing. Read on to discover the highlights of an exciting year.

In today's Labs, external consultants are crucial for contact lens fitting, but data security is equally vital. In January we released a new module, FocalPoints Eye Specialist, specifically tailored to address this challenge, allowing Labs to facilitate necessary fitting activities conducted by external consultants while maintaining the utmost confidentiality of their sensitive data.

In January we attended the GSLS in Las Vegas, a pivotal event that drew over 1,000 attendees from all over the world. This forum provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with existing clients, renew collaborations, gather industry insights, and strategize for the upcoming year, all while participating in cutting-edge clinical education on specialty lenses.

We then presented the Manufacturing Live Dashboard, a real-time tool for monitoring critical production KPIs. Designed for FP Workshop users, the dashboard provides immediate, actionable insights to optimize lab performance. From reducing rejects to maximizing resource utilization, this feature empowers data-driven decision-making. Its user-friendly layout offers real-time metrics, benchmarks, and trend analysis, streamlining how to manage and analyze production activities.

In March, we revamped the FocalPoints Licensing platform's Exported Log Browser to enhance licensing management for Design Owners. The industry's only such platform, it now features a log database, configurable time frames, licensee lists, advanced filters, and a new export procedure to CSV files. These improvements empower Design Owners with a more robust tool for data analysis and reporting.

In April we unveiled our latest integration with Optimec Systems is830 lens imaging system at the 49th EFCLIN Congress. This integration streamlines lens inspection, offering faster and more accurate data collection across production stages. Features like barcode scanning for automatic data transfer and complete traceability make the process more efficient.

Prior to summer, we rolled out a series of FocalPoints updates, enhancing its functionality across various modules. These included a dynamic visualization feature in the Lambda-X NIMO's Cross-Section Power Map, refined management of Raw Blank Thickness values in DAC Lathes, controlled rollout in production in case the material is out-of-stock, and a new feature in the Label Editor that simplifies the conversion of numerical variables into Diopters or Millimeters.

In October we pushed further our collaboration with Contamac. Now we are preloading Contamac's materials data in FocalPoints significantly expediting the materials insertion process for new customers. This collaboration streamlines customer workflows by automating data entry and offering quick access to Contamac's quality materials.

In addition to our achievements, we also want to share some noteworthy corporate activities that reinforce our commitment to innovation and sustainability. FocalPoints has now secured Trademark Registration in both Italy and Europe. This notable achievement is a testament to our unwavering dedication to brand protection and the assurance of quality that our partners and clients have come to expect from us.

Our dedication to improving vision extends beyond our industry. We've planted 400 trees worldwide as part of our Advance Now Forest project in collaboration with Treedom. These trees will absorb 130,700 Kg of CO2 in their first ten years. Moreover, we've installed solar panels to enhance our energy self-sufficiency, and we've partnered with energy suppliers committed to renewable energy throughout their supply chain.

Finally, in adherence to our commitment to quality and service excellence, we implemented a thorough Business Continuity Plan (BCP) within the framework of our Quality Management System. This milestone exemplifies our dedication to meeting our customers' needs consistently. Our BCP not only safeguards our processes but also reinforces the trust our long-standing clients have in our services, reinforcing our reputation for reliability and quality. We see our clients as vital allies, and their success is our most significant reward.

BCP and Risk Analysis

We're thrilled to celebrate a successful year of collaboration and growth with our valued clients. We look forward to building upon these achievements in the coming year, continuing to innovate and deliver excellence in the specialty contact lens industry. We take great pride in what we do, but most of all we are grateful for the trust that our clients and partners place in us. We approach this responsibility with a strong sense of commitment, setting ambitious industry objectives, continually refining our internal processes, and attentively listening to the perspectives of all stakeholders.
