2025 in Review: A Year of Growth, Integration, and Innovation
December 2025 - Company Update / Strategy
From global expansion to advanced integrations and new compliance tools, discover how Advance continues to shape the future of specialty lens manufacturing. Discover our vision →
This year has been a strong one for Advance Medical, marked by technological progress, new customers, ongoing partnerships, and a continued commitment to sustainability, cybersecurity, and accessibility. Each milestone reflects our focus on supporting specialty contact lens manufacturers with reliable tools, deeper integrations, and forward-looking solutions that help bring better vision to the world.
Expanding Our International Presence
We welcomed laboratories from the United Kingdom, Taiwan, France, the Netherlands, Chile, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan, further expanding our international footprint and strengthening our position in the specialty lens market. With customers in more than thirty-five countries across six continents, our global reach continues to expand, reflecting the trust laboratories place in us.
Environmental Impact
We closed the year by strengthening our commitment to sustainability. Our Advance Now forest, created with Treedom, has grown to 800 trees planted across nine countries, generating an estimated absorption of more than 215,000 kilograms of CO₂ in their first decade of life. In parallel, we improved website accessibility in line with key WCAG principles, delivering clearer structure, improved readability, more intuitive navigation, and enhanced compatibility with assistive technologies.
Introducing SimuLENS® GATEWAY
As digital fitting gains momentum, our integration with the SimuLENS cloud platform created a fully connected workflow between fitting and manufacturing. Through the SimuLENS® GATEWAY, laboratories can generate extensive digital fitting sets inside FocalPoints and make them available to Eye Care Professionals through SimuLENS. Practitioners can select the best lens through the platform, and those parameters return directly into FocalPoints for production. This approach reduces the need for physical trial sets, minimizes errors, and shortens the path from fitting to manufacturing.
New Packaging Management Module
In September, we introduced the new Packaging Management module, an evolution of our original Label Management system. The module consolidates the control of primary and secondary packaging, Instructions for Use, Certificates of Conformance, and UDI data within one integrated environment. By unifying all packaging-related processes, the module supports complete MDR compliance while simplifying the creation, management, and traceability of every document and label associated with the product.
Simplifying Software Validation
As regulatory expectations evolve, software validation has become a key requirement for medical device manufacturers. Many laboratories still find the process complex or time-consuming, which is why we developed a dedicated Software Validation Protocol together with EFFETRE. This service provides a clear, structured approach to validating FocalPoints, helping laboratories remain compliant while reducing the operational burden on internal teams.
Optimec IRiS Joins FocalPoints Ecosystem
The expansion continued in June with the native integration of Optimec IRiS. This advanced metrology system enhances non-contact measurement capabilities and supports early defect detection, full traceability, and consistent manufacturing quality. With IRiS added to the platform, labs gain another reliable tool for efficient and precise control over their production workflow. By adding IRiS to the FocalPoints ecosystem, laboratories gain a versatile tool that covers the entire lifecycle from lens blank to finished item. This integration strengthens quality control, improves defect detection, and gives manufacturers a more efficient way to monitor their processes.
Full Circle Precision with NIMOevo Sag
Our collaboration with Lambda-X® reached a new level with the integration of the NIMOevo SAG. This enhancement extends full compatibility across the entire NIMO family, from the original NIMO to NIMOevo and the latest NIMOevo SAG, ensuring a consistent user experience and streamlined data flow within FocalPoints. Built on the patented Phase Shifting Schlieren technique, the NIMO instruments deliver high-resolution optical measurements that support precise and reliable lens control.
Supporting Team Ujka-Bridi
In May, we began a new partnership with professional beach volleyball athletes Alessia Ujka and Ulrike Bridi. Throughout the Italian Championship, the athletes wore the FocalPoints brand on their uniforms, representing qualities that resonate with our work in specialty lens manufacturing, including focus, precision, and consistency under pressure. Their presence on the court offered a dynamic way to celebrate our expanding global recognition.
Protecting our Brand Vision
This year we celebrated important steps in our international brand protection strategy. enVisus® became an officially registered trademark in the European Union, and FocalPoints® achieved trademark registration in the United States. These registrations reinforce the identity of both platforms and reflect our long-term commitment to clarity, consistency, and trust across global markets.
Integrating iTrace by Tracey Technology
April also marked a significant expansion of our HOA ecosystem with the integration of the iTrace advanced aberrometer by Tracey Technologies. By bringing detailed HOA analysis into a production-ready workflow, laboratories can now manufacture lenses that compensate for subtle optical distortions with a level of precision that was once limited to research settings.
Cybersecurity Focus
During the 51st EFCLIN Congress in Norway, we actively promoted greater industry awareness around a topic that remains widely underestimated in the medical device sector: cybersecurity. Our session reinforced that cybersecurity is a management responsibility, not simply an IT issue, with direct impact on operational safety and patient outcomes. Through real world examples, we highlighted system vulnerabilities and the importance of preparedness in safeguarding manufacturing continuity, alongside our ongoing efforts to strengthen our own internal resilience and security readiness as a company.
Improving the way Work Together
Working together with Bipart legal studio, we reviewed all our software license agreements to provide clearer terms and a more consistent experience for our clients. To further streamline collaboration, we introduced SignNow for fast and secure electronic signatures, improving turnaround times and simplifying onboarding. We also launched our branded file-sharing platform, Smash, a fully GDPR-compliant solution that enables clients to send and receive files securely as part of their daily work with FocalPoints.
Integrating OVITZ xwave
To expand the reach of enVisus, February saw the integration of the OVITZ xwave aberrometry system into FocalPoints. This connection allows advanced wavefront data to flow seamlessly into the manufacturing process, enabling laboratories to produce more personalized lenses that address glare, halos, and other HOA-related visual disturbances with unparalleled accuracy.
Enter the HOA Revolution
We began the year with the launch of enVisus®, a transformative Special Feature that brings Higher Order Aberration correction into everyday manufacturing. After years of research, enVisus introduced a practical and scalable method to apply HOA correction directly to existing lens designs, removing the need for a new fitting workflow and allowing laboratories to leverage their existing expertise. This launch set a new standard in visual precision and opens HOA-enabled lenses to a broader clinical audience.
2026: What's next?
As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to expanding our HOA workflows, strengthening our metrology and aberrometry integrations, and developing tools that simplify the most challenging steps of specialty lens manufacturing. Guided by regulatory compliance and by close collaboration with our customers, our mission is to make production smarter, more efficient, and more collaborative while supporting labs as they scale and innovate.
This year has shown what is possible when innovation meets collaboration. From advancing HOA correction to strengthening our global ecosystem, every milestone reflects our commitment to supporting specialty contact lens manufacturers with clarity and purpose. My sincere thanks go to our clients, partners, and colleagues around the world. Together, we continue to work together to bring better vision to the many people.
