December: ESG Initiatives

We concluded the year by taking important steps toward sustainability and corporate responsibility. Through new ESG initiatives, we reaffirmed our commitment to environmental and social governance, ensuring long-term value for our partners and stakeholders.

November: Menicon UK Project

We completed an ambitious project for Menicon UK to expand automated order transfers via complex EDI transfers, across borders. This 15-year collaboration exemplifies streamlined operations, seamless integration, and a shared commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction.

October: Expanded Tutorials

To better support our users, we introduced a suite of comprehensive video tutorials. These resources ensure that our customers can maximize the potential of FocalPoints, improving efficiency and product quality.

September: New Features

In September, we rolled out new features tailored to meet customer needs. Enhanced usability and precision tools empower manufacturers to achieve better outcomes while simplifying day-to-day operations. The Orders Grouping & Closing module in the QuickOrder package streamlines end-of-cycle order management, or the Automatic Blank Center Thickness (BCT) measurement for DAC Lathes simplifies and streamlines the production workflow, removing the need for manual measurements, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency.

August: Powermap Comparison Engine

We launched the Powermap Comparison Engine (PCE), a revolutionary tool designed to ensure theoretical contact lens designs align with real-world outcomes. Already compatible with the NIMO, and with future support planned for other power mappers, this innovation reduces subjectivity and elevates quality assurance for labs needing to evaluate free-form lenses.

July: Topographers' Integration

This month marked the key integration with OCULUS Pentacam® and Keratograph/Easygraph systems. This enhancement allows laboratories to use precise topography data for better contact lens fittings, ensuring accuracy and comfort for wearers.

June: Updated FocalPoints Menu

We unveiled the updated FocalPoints menu with improved functionality and a sleek, modern design. This redesign offers greater accessibility and adapts seamlessly to users’ installed modules.

May: Efclin Celebration

In Portugal we celebrated EFCLIN’s 50th anniversary alongside FocalPoints’ 30th. It was an excellent opportunity to share our vision for the future of specialty contact lens manufacturing. Together with our partners Bausch+Lomb and Contamac, we hosted a beach party to honour the vibrant EFCLIN community.

April: 30th Anniversary

This year we celebrated the 30th anniversary of FocalPoints, a remarkable journey that began with Renato Liffredo’s vision and has grown into the global standard for specialty contact lens software. Over three decades, FocalPoints has continuously evolved, driving innovation and setting benchmarks in lens design/manufacturing, and customer success.

March: Materials Integration

In March we extended our collaboration with Acuity Polymers, ensuring FocalPoints users can access comprehensive material data. This integration has enhanced manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

January: GSLS and CLMA

We kicked-off 2024 by joining the Contact Lens Manufacturers Association (CLMA). Our participation in the Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS) in Las Vegas was a valuable opportunity to engage with clients and industry leaders. The event reinforced our mission to drive excellence in specialty contact lens manufacturing.
